It may also be defined as “derivative from renewable biomass that can replace, partially or completely, fossil fuels in internal combustion engines or for generating another type of energy”. Conventional biodiesel can be produced from raw vegetable oils derived from soybean, rapeseed, palm oil or sunflower, among others, as well as animal fats and used cooking oil.
